ED-U-CA-TION: A body of knowledge acquired, the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction.
Teaching doesn’t need a formal setting nor does the educator need to be the unequivocal expert. Parents educate their children through story, cave dwelling tribes educated through pictograms, historic Chinese handscrolls have shared educational lessons for many generations. The past two years have certainly been an ‘education disrupter’ moment where schools have had to navigate through the white-water rapids of space, place, technology, and time. Today we pause and we ask, where are we on the journey of education in the 21st century and how does education continue to Evolve. In April 2023, we will gather in Long Beach, California to share how your leading-edge projects are shaping the evolution of education. We encourage educators and designers to submit proposals for our conference while we explore this topic.
Call for Speakers
The 2023 Southwest Region Conference Committee is now accepting submissions for speaking engagements for the in-person conference April 25-27, 2023 in Long Beach, CA.
All sessions are 60 minutes in length, and rooms will be set theater style. NO MORE THAN 3 SPEAKERS PER SESSION.
Conference Theme: Evolution of Education
All speakers must register for the conference. A discount of $50 will be offered to selected speakers for
full conference registrations. No compensation will be provided for speaking, expenses, travel, or lodging.
Primary preference will be given to:
- Proposals that include students, teachers, or administrators.
- Relate to the conference theme.
- Offer a fresh perspective.
- Are relevant and of interest.
- Have measurable and achievable learning objectives.
