Gerry McCudden Memorial Scholarship Award
The Saskatchewan Chapter Gerry McCudden Scholarship is a competitive, merit-based scholarship program designed for graduating grade twelve students who desire financial support for their pursuit of post-secondary educational opportunities. The amount of this Scholarship will be $2,000, provided for the first year of post-secondary education.

Qualifications
- The candidate shall be a graduating grade twelve student.
- The candidate shall have leadership potential as measured by leadership roles in school or community activities, or by creativity and vision demonstrated through participation in school or community activities.
- The candidate will submit a personal essay on the required Essay Subject: “There has been increasing evidence that the design and condition of an educational facility has a significant impact on the quality of education and a student’s ability to learn. In 500 words or less, please describe how your high school facility has contributed to the quality of your education. Also, please describe the changes to your high school facility that you would propose, which you feel once implemented, would improve the quality of education.”
- The candidate must be accepted into a post secondary educational program following their grade twelve graduation, (i.e.: university, technical school, community college, etc.)
- Applicant must be from a Saskatchewan School Division which currently has a member in A4LE (see below).

Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 2, 2023.
The student along with their School Division shall be notified by the Saskatchewan Executive as to their selection for the scholarship award.
Scholarship Award Process
- The School Division shall distribute information on the scholarship to eligible students.
- Saskatchewan Executive will receive the applications and make a recommendation on the award of the scholarship to the Association, prior to July 31, 2022.
- The successful candidate shall provide confirmation of enrollment at a post-secondary educational institution in the fall term for the first and second year of education, to the Saskatchewan Executive.
- The Saskatchewan Chapter shall forward the scholarship amount to the successful candidate prior to the end of December for the first and second year of education.
Award Value
The amount of this Scholarship will be $2,000, provided for the first year of post-secondary education.

Sponsorship to Regional or International Conference
The Saskatchewan Chapter is interested in sponsoring a Saskatchewan member of the Association for Learning Environments in attending either a regional conference or an international conference. This sponsorship opportunity is designed for members who have not had the opportunity to attend either of these conferences before and who desire financial support in their pursuit of the educational opportunities attending these conferences would provide. The sponsorship amount will be allocated on a yearly basis, being made available for Saskatchewan chapter members.
Sponsorship Value:
Pacific Northwest Regional Conference – Portland, OR, April 28- May 1, 2022. The amount of this sponsorship is the cost of registration, conference hotels (up to 5 nights); return flights, hotel transfers, and a meal allowance total value of up to $1500.
LearningSCAPES 2021 – Denver CO, October 14-18, 2021. The amount of this sponsorship is the cost of registration, conference hotels (up to 5 nights); return flights, hotel transfers, and a meal allowance total value of up to $3500.
