The OR/SW WA Chapter is excited to invite you to this special tour of Lake Oswego High School in Lake Oswego, OR.

The Lake Oswego High School Outdoor CTE Project is a new covered outdoor classroom area with teaching wall and mobile seating benches, teaching greenhouse, and tiered seating and planting areas south of the outdoor classroom. Site features include detention areas for storm water management at the south end of the site, lighting and ADA accessible pathways, and a new solar collector/ pedestal used for the sustainable education platform for the students.

Learning Objectives:

• Learn how to design exceptional outdoor classrooms on a limited budget.
• Accommodating the pedagogy of typical outdoor classrooms. Overcoming the challenge of incorporating large specialty “off the shelf” components (Greenhouse & Solar Collector) into a cohesive overall design.
• Discussing around how to negotiate maintaining parity among schools in a school district.
