Gerry McCudden Memorial Scholarship Award
The Saskatchewan Chapter Gerry McCudden Scholarship is a competitive, merit-based scholarship program designed for graduating grade twelve students who desire financial support for their pursuit of post-secondary educational opportunities.
The Scholarship amount will be allocated on a yearly basis to Saskatchewan School Division which currently has a member in A4LE. The method for the selection of the School Division to receive the Scholarship shall be at the discretion of the Saskatchewan Chapter Board of Directors of A4LE.
Qualifications
- The candidate shall be a graduating grade twelve student.
- The candidate shall have leadership potential as measured by leadership roles in school or community activities, or by creativity and vision demonstrated through participation in school or community activities.
- The candidate will submit a personal essay on the required Essay Subject: “There has been increasing evidence that the design and condition of an educational facility has a significant impact on the quality of education and a student’s ability to learn. In 500 words or less, please describe how the layout, features, program spaces and general condition of your high school facility contributed to the opportunities and challenges of your education. Also, please describe potential changes to your high school facility that you would propose, which you feel if implemented, would improve the quality of education.”
- The candidate must be accepted into a post-secondary educational program following their graduation, (i.e.: university, technical school, community college, etc.), and pursuing a field of study that aligns with A4LE’s mission, vision, and core values. Eligible areas of study include Architecture, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, etc.), and other disciplines within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. Related fields may also qualify, such as Interior Design, Industrial Design, Construction Management, Computer-Aided Design/Drafting, and education degrees when they relate to building design, construction, or associated career paths.
- Applicant must be from a Saskatchewan School Division which currently has a member in A4LE (see table below).

Complete Application
Applications and submissions must be received no later than 5:00 PM on June 5, 2026.
The student(s) along with their School Division(s) shall be notified by the Saskatchewan Executive as to their selection for the scholarship award.
Scholarship Award Process
- The School Division shall distribute information on the scholarship to eligible students.
- The candidates shall provide confirmation of enrollment at a post-secondary educational institution in the fall term for the first year of education within the application no later than June 5, 2026.
- Saskatchewan Executive will receive the applications and make a recommendation on the award of the scholarship(s) to A4LE, prior end of July 2026.
- The Saskatchewan Chapter shall forward the scholarship amount to the successful candidate prior to the end of December for the first year of education.
Award Value
The amount of this Scholarship will be $2,000, provided for the first year of post-secondary education.
Two (2) scholarships of this amount may be available to applicants at the discretion of the Saskatchewan Executive.
