Join CAE, in partnership with A4LE, for a construction tour of the new Montlake Elementary Modernization and Addition project, designed by DLR Group and built by the GCCM, Skanska. Get a sneak peek inside the ongoing construction before the school is set to open for the Seattle Public Schools 2025-2026 school year.
The existing 2-story historic school building is a designated Seattle Landmark. The 22,447 square-foot landmarked building will be modernized and tied seamlessly to a new 3-story addition. Together the historic renovation and new addition form a south-facing courtyard building that features outdoor learning and play, directly accessible from multiple building levels. Once complete, the school will provide an equitable learning space for up to 500 K-5 elementary students. It will meet district educational standards while reflecting the input from the school design advisory team (SDAT), comprised of school leaders, students, parents, and community members.
