Call for Speakers

The 2026 Alaska Chapter conference committee is now accepting submissions for speaking engagements for the conference in Fairbanks on December 2-4, 2026.

Conference Theme: A Place for all Alaskan Learners

All speakers must be available to speak on all or any of the session days as sessions will be assigned time slots.

All speakers MUST register for the conference. A discount of 20% will be offered to selected speakers for FULL conference registrations (does not apply to daily rates). No compensation will be provided for speaking, expenses, travel, or lodging.

Primary preference will be given to:
  • Proposals that include students, teachers, or administrators.
  • Relate to the conference theme.
  • Offer a fresh perspective.
  • Are relevant and of interest.
  • Have measurable and achievable learning objectives and call to action.

Desired topics:
  • Deciding whether to renovate or replace
  • Rural & maintenance concerns
  • Construction contractor’s presentations
  • Impacts of space design on student performance and outcomes
  • Educational models
  • Transitioning from construction to O&M
  • Playgrounds
  • Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Alternative energies
  • Student mental health/trauma engaged design
  • Furniture for schools
