Ready to Roll!
Join the second annual
A4LE Washington Chapter Conference Biking Tour on Wednesday, May 31st. All abilities and experience levels are welcome. Choose the distance that fits you best:
- a flat 10-mile,
- a slightly hillier 20-mile, or a
- longer 40-mile route.
Drive to the start of the ride and park in the angled parking along Birch Bay Drive.
Each ride starts and stops at the same location:
The Beach at Birch Bay, 7876 Birch Bay Dr, Blaine, WA 98230
Each ride will have a guide who will keep the group together and ensure no one is left behind. After the rides, we will come together to share stories and enjoy a well-earned dinner.
Bring your own bike and gear, e-bikes are welcome. Rentals are available at
Birch Bay Bike Shop and there are a limited number of rental bikes at Semiahmoo Resort. Please inquire by calling the shop or resort.
Here are three links to the routes:
Long ride – 40 miles. Starts at 1:30 – enjoys the beach roads, meadows, and farmland around Birch Bay and Ferndale, this route follows quiet rural roads and gentle climbs.

Medium ride – 21.7 miles. Starts at 3:00 – along Birch Bay Park up to the meadow, loops back through Birch Bay Park, and continues along the bay for a loop through the golf course and Birch Point Road.

Short ride – 10.4 miles. Starts at 3:00 – same as medium ride without adding on the golf course/Birch Point Road loop. Enjoys the beauty of Birch Bay.

For both the medium and long routes, there are options to cut it short if someone has had enough or if the weather isn’t good.
For the short ride, there is the option to just stay close to the bay and not venture up to the meadow.
